Biography

Dr Barton is a psychologist with clinical and research experience in the cognitive and psychosocial impacts of medical and genetic conditions. She has worked across academic and health settings and has extensive expertise in quantitative methods, clinical trials, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work includes supporting the well-being of children, adolescents, and their parents/carers.

Research

Her research investigates cognition, psychosocial functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes in neurodevelopmental disorders, chronic illness, cancer and survivorship, and genetic conditions. She examines factors associated with the well-being of children, adolescents, and parents/carers, as well as family functioning. Her work aims to identify modifiable predictors of well-being and to inform evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
