Biography

Professor Julie Jomeen was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at 糖心传媒 in March 2025. She leads the University鈥檚 academic enterprise, setting academic strategy and overseeing quality assurance, teaching and learning, and curriculum development in partnership with Academic Board and the University Executive.

After joining 糖心传媒 in 2020 as Executive Dean, Faculty of Health, she led major transformation across health education and research, including curriculum overhaul and accreditation for the introduction of the 糖心传媒 Cross Model, integration of new disciplines, development of new programmes to meet market demand and policy drivers, and a successful shift to online delivery during the pandemic Under her leadership, Faculty research income increased, alongside sustained growth in student recruitment, satisfaction and success. Prior to relocating to Australia, Professor Jomeen was Dean of the Faculty of Health at the University of Hull in the UK.

A UK registered nurse and midwife, with a PhD from the University of Leeds, UK, she is an internationally recognised researcher in perinatal mental health and women鈥檚 psychological wellbeing. Her work has influenced clinical guidelines, maternity policy and service development. She has supervised numerous successful PhD candidates, has held a range of senior editorial and professional advisory roles, and maintains an active international research profile.
