Biography
Andrew is a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, primarily in intensive care. He has worked as a Lecturer in Nursing for 15 years, including roles as Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Nursing and currently the Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry).

Andrew鈥檚 research focuses on health workforce development, communities of practice, and participatory methodologies. His interests include educator identity, peer and simulation learning, remote holographic learning, clinical reasoning, AI鈥慳ssisted learning, interprofessional education, and workforce development. His PhD was shortlisted for an Excellence in Engagement Award.
Teaching
Andrew is committed to excellence in teaching, with a student鈥慶entred and innovative approach. His teaching incorporates simulation, AI鈥慳ssisted learning, and interprofessional education. In 2017, he led a team awarded a Vice鈥慍hancellor鈥檚 Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
Supervision
Andrew has supervised a master's student to completion and is available for HDR supervision.
Community engagement
Andrew actively contributes to a national nursing community of practice, participating in projects focused on quality improvement, innovation, and scholarship. His work reflects a collaborative approach, emphasising engagement, impact, and knowledge sharing across the profession. Andrew has collaborated on several workforce projects with NSW Health.
Other
Andrew is a member of the FoH Interprofessional Learning Steering Committee and contributed to the SCU Interprofessional Education Curriculum Framework, specifically in Reasoning and Decision Making. He has led targeted interventions that have improved student retention and academic outcomes, demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusive supervision and learner support.
