Open Education (OE) week is an annual global event held to promote and learn about open education. SCU Library will be holding OE week celebrations between 27 April to 1 May 2026.

Providing "revolutionary learning" by replacing prescribed textbooks with open education resources (OER) is one way that SCU both participates in the global OE movement and helps to alleviate students' . However, for teaching staff it can be difficult to know where to start when transitioning a unit to zero-textbook cost learning resources.

Join us for this Lunch and learn to discover:

  • what are open education resources (OER)?
  • why transition to OER and other zero-cost learning resources for students?
  • what to consider when choosing zero-cost learning resources?
  • where to find OER and other zero-cost options?
  • how to make these resources available to students?

This event will be held via Zoom and will be presented by Kat Lee, Team lead, Copyright and open licensing.

The event will not be recorded, however, a similar session will be run later in the year.
